Our family was visiting Traverse City from out of state and noticed Bardon's several times driving by from where we stayed. Being a BBQ nut, I was curious. The family was starving later in the evening so I took a chance if they'd have any BBQ left and was pleasantly surprised they could fill a large order that time of day. Brisket was tender and tasty, pulled pork was delicious, everyone enjoyed the Mac and cheese (made with cavatappi pasta!) and the beans were amazing (lots of bacon, peppers and even smoked sausage!). They even tossed in a Texas Twinkie on the house. We're very glad to come across an old-fashioned, no-frills local joint like this. Highly recommend!

Bardon's offers so many flavours of toppings and frozen treat options you will be hard pressed to choose only one treat! You may need to stop by twice while visiting Traverse City. My favourite flavour is rum and butter. Yum!

I was hopeful for good things with this restaurant because it’s kind of a cool place located in the corner of a parking lot. Unfortunately, the brisket was OK, but the pulled pork was mealy and felt like it had been made a couple days before or potentially was shaved in a frozen state. I don’t quite know how else to explain it. I hope I just caught them on a bad day.

After a perfect day soaking up the sun on one of Upper Michigan's beautiful beaches, my family and I stumbled upon what turned out to be the ideal way to cap off our adventure – Bardon's Wonder Freeze. What a delightful surprise this little ice cream stand turned out to be! In a world where it seems like every food establishment is charging premium prices for mediocre quality, Bardon's Wonder Freeze stands as a refreshing exception. The serving sizes were genuinely generous. No skimpy scoops here – they pile it on with the kind of old-fashioned generosity that's becoming increasingly rare. The kids were thrilled, and honestly, so were the adults. :-) The prices were also incredibly reasonable. At a time when a simple ice cream cone elsewhere might cost you $8 or more for a disappointingly small portion, Bardon's Wonder Freeze proves that you can still get excellent value for your money.
